First Officer Training Program

Enrollment

Program Details:

Key lime air has two first officer program options. The first is the piston twin program flown in the Piper Navajo. The second is the turboprop program, flown in Metro II, Metro III, and the Metro 23. Both of these programs allow you the flexibility to purchase flight time in either 100 or 250 hour blocks to suit your individual needs and financial means. In addition, the Piper Navajo program is available in 50 hour blocks, and the metroliner program is available in 350 hour blocks. SIC candidates should anticipate flying 50 hours per month in any of our programs. During your program, you may be rotated through our route structure so you will experience the many unique challenges and conditions that our flying environment has to offer.

A minimum of 42 hours of ground instruction is provided with any program. In addition, an FAA part 135 checkride is given with all programs. Participants enrolling in a metroliner program after July, 2006 will receive a Metroliner SIC Type Rating upon successful completion of the program.

Minimum Requirements

First Officer candidates must be a minimum of 18 years of age. The minimum requirement to join a Key Lime Air SIC program is a current FAA issued Commercial Pilot certificate with airplane multi-engine land and instrument ratings, instrument currency and a valid second class FAA medical.
